Mathcad 15 will refuse to start and do anything - you will be prompted to start the license manager. And you sure can buy it but I am not sure if you can buy Mathcad 15 alone. PTC is heavily pushing Prime, but If you buy Prime, you get Mathcad 15 along for free (buying the tail and getting the dog for free, as someone here had called it). That is you get a product number for Prime, install Prime ( the product number will not work for MC15) and during the installation you get a license file, bound to the primary MAC of your comupters NIC. Now you can let MC15 start its license manager and chose the option " I already have a license" and point the manager to the license file you just got.
