Lukasz,

thanks for sending links. I watched the video and heard words "it's for free".

To be sure that I understand it well, I'll wait until PTC releases PTC Creo 3.0. Then I'll verify, that Creo Unite works that way.

I would like to know more "technological" details about Creo Unite technology. I do not understand, how it is possible that Creo Parametric 3.0 is able to open native files CATIA, NX, Solidworks files. Did they buy some license from other companies ?

No problem.

As for technicalities I don't know how much we'll know about it, but as far as I know this file "open" thing is mostly hidden import geometry from other CAD format. In later "M" releases you'll be able to assin default profiles with templates this geometry to be imported to, so you could use different templates with different parameters for CATIA, SW or SolidEdge. Deep down below it's still geometry import as it was before, but with some enhancements regarding foreign CAD data. I think someone directly from PTC could tell more about it, if they'd be willing to Opening file just streamlines importing geometry and makes it invisible to user.
